4.1 The images of the Products on our site are for illustrative purposes only. We do our best to ensure the accuracy of any photograph, illustration, diagram, description, advertisement and other content. They exist only to give you an approximation of whichever product they are describing, and we will not be liable for any use of this content made by you. Although we have made every effort to display the colours accurately, we cannot guarantee that your computer’s display of the colours accurately reflect the colour of the Products. Your Products may vary slightly from those images.

4.2 Although we have made every effort to be as accurate as possible, all sizes, weights, dimensions and measurements indicated on our site are approximate only. The packaging of the Products may vary from that shown on images on our site.

4.3 We agree that any goods purchase from us, are fit for whatever purposes are described on that product page and are of satisfactory quality. This does not cover any fault that may develop in the product from wear and tear, accidents, negligence, willful damage, using the product in a way other than recommended by us or the manufacturer, failure on your part to follow any instructions or any repairs or modifications you carry out without our written permission. Our liability for any losses you may suffer from us breaching this agreement is strictly limited to the purchase price of any goods you have ordered. We will not be held responsible for the content of external sites.

4.4 All Products shown on our site are subject to availability. We will inform you by email as soon as possible if the Product you have ordered is not available, if this is the case we will not process your order (if made) and you will receive a full refund of any price you have paid for the relevant Product (if made) and any applicable delivery charges you have paid for (if made). We will process the refund due to you within 30 calendar days of the day on which we informed you that the Product you ordered is not available.


5.1 All Lighting Room Goods are produced to the European and British quality and safety standard specification and comply with current legislation. All our prices are inclusive of VAT and exclude the price of delivery.

5.2 We make every effort to ensure that the pricing displayed on our website is correct. However, if an error in the pricing of a product is found we reserve the right to either cancel your order or contact you to arrange payment of any extra sum due or refund any over-payment made by you (as applicable). The processing of an order can be cancelled or corrected by us at anytime up to the shipment of that order and any related items. Please note that if the pricing error is obvious and without question a mistake and could have reasonably been recognised by you as a mispricing, we do not have to provide the Products to you at the incorrect (lower) price.

5.3 We reserve the right to alter all product pricing without notice.

5.4 Title in any products ordered from us does not pass to you, the purchaser until we have received and processed a valid payment, and that payment has been made into our own bank account and your order has been shipped.


6.1 When you place an order you will automatically receive a confirmation email from us to confirm your order (Order Confirmation). Your order constitutes an offer made to us to purchase the goods specified in the order.

6.2 Your offer is only accepted by us once we have emailed you to confirm the dispatch of your order.

6.3 Product items not included within the Order Confirmation email are not included in the order and contract between you and us.

6.4 We reserve the right to delay or refuse orders where a transaction contains incomplete details or details that cannot be verifiedor where fraud is suspected.

6.5 If we are unable to reasonably ascertain these details or resolve these issues a full refund will be made against the card used at the time of purchase. No other form of refund or credit will be offered nor will a refund be made to any third party card or account.

6.6 If we are unable to supply you with a Product, for example because that Product is not in stock or no longer available or because of an error in the price on our site as referred to in clause 5.2, we will inform you of this by email and we will not process your order. If you have already paid for the Products, we will refund you the full amount within 30 days.


7.1 All orders received by us are shipped subject to availability. Goods that are out of stock may take up to 4 - 8 weeks of receipt of order. In the unlikely event of Goods taking longer than the 4 - 8 week period you will be contacted by our Customer Services and given the option to cancel without penalty. Your order will be processed right away. Goods that are in stock will be dispatched within 3-7 working days. Goods that are out of stock may take up to 4 - 8 weeks from receipt of order. In the unlikely event of Goods taking longer than the 4 - 8 week period you will be contacted by customer services and given the option to cancel without penalty. Goods supplied within the UK will normally be delivered within 3-7 workings days of acceptance of order. If the agreed delivery date cannot be met, you will be notified and given the opportunity to agree a new delivery date or cancel the order. Our working hours are Monday to Friday 10am to 5pm, excluding any Bank or National Holidays. If no one is available to take delivery from our couriers, a calling card will be left. If you do not contact the courier, a further two delivery attempts will be made. If the courier is still unable to deliver after this point the Goods will be returned to If you require re-delivery, Lighting Room reserve the right to charge additional shipping costs.

7.2 Goods that are temporarily out of stock should be dispatched within 4 - 8 weeks. If there is any further delay you will be notified and given the option to cancel. Some of our more exclusive products may only be available as a Special Order, this will be stipulated. Every effort will be made to deliver these orders within the quoted delivery time however we are unable to guarantee dates. In such cases your normal cancellation rights still apply

7.3 We reserve the right to ship products at a later date (up to 28 days after purchase) where the product ordered is not in stock at the time of purchase. In this situation you will be contacted and offered a full refund instead of delivery of the product.

7.4 We cannot be held responsible for disruption to shipping caused by industrial disputes or action outside our direct control. If such disruption occurs you will be offered delivery via an alternative delivery or fulfillment company or a full refund.

7.5 If you are ordering a product from outside the UK the recipient of the product is responsible for all customs duties or tariffs incurred in the country to which the products are shipped. Furthermore your order may be subject to delay or be opened and searched by local customs authorities when entering the destination country. Please note we are unable to provide specific advice on customs duties or tariffs.


8.1 Under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013, you have a right to cancel your purchase during the period set out below in Clause 7.1. This means that during the relevant period if you change your mind or decide for any other reason that you do not want to keep a Product, you can notify us of your decision to cancel the Contract and receive a refund. Advice about your legal right to cancel the Contract is available from your local Citizens’ Advice Bureau or Trading Standards office.

However, to exercise this right you must notify us in writing, (email or letter). Your legal right to cancel a Contract starts from the date of the Order Confirmation (the date on which we email you to confirm our acceptance of your order), which is when the Contract between us is formed. Your deadline for cancelling the Contract then depends on what you have ordered and how it is delivered, as set out below:

Your Contract End of the cancellation period.

Your Contract is for a single Product (which is not delivered in installments on separate days). The end date is the end of 14 days after the day on which you receive the Product.

Your Contract is for either of the following:

One Product which is delivered in installments of separate days.

Multiple Products which are delivered on separate days. The end date is 14 days after the day on which you receive the last installment of the Product or the last of the separate Products ordered.

Your contract is for the regular delivery of a Product over a set period. The end date is 14 days after the day on which you receive the first delivery of Products.

Please include details of your Order ID, so this will help us to identify your order. If you send us your cancellation notice be email or be post, then your cancellation is effective from the date you send us the email or post the letter to us.

8.2 As stated above notification of cancellation must be in writing, a telephone call is not a valid cancellation.

8.3 However, this cancellation right does not apply in the case of:

8.3.1 Products that are made to your specification, ‘Special Order’, the commissioning of handmade Shades and altering existing fittings or Products that are clearly personalised, unless defective.

8.3.2 Products that are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly; or

8.3.3 Any Products which become mixed inseparably with other items after their delivery.

8.4 Goods that are sealed or shrink-wrapped and this is removed can only be returned if they are defective.

8.5 Please observe the following procedure for all returns to us, in the first instance you must obtain a Return Merchandise Number from our customer service department. No goods are authorised for return by Lighting Room without this number being issued.

8.5.1 On the back of your delivery note or on another piece of paper, (if you no longer have your delivery note), include your order number and the reason for the return.

8.5.2 If you are returning your product because it is defective, please state the defect or defects.

8.5.3 Re-package the product in its original packaging, including any accessories, brochures, manuals, guarantees or warranties that came with the product. Unfortunately, we will be unable to issue a refund where the product is in an incomplete state.

8.6 If the original packaging surrounding the product has been damaged or destroyed we will only issue a refund if the product is being returned due to a defect. If the original packaging of a defective product has been damaged or destroyed you should ensure that the returned product is adequately packed for shipment back to us.

8.7 You are responsible for paying any postage or shipping costs incurred when returning the product.

8.8 We recommend that all returns be sent by registered post, so that a record of the return is available for you.

8.9 We will not issue refunds for any items lost or stolen in transit to us.

8.10 Where a return is lost or stolen in transit to us, you should claim compensation from the company that shipped the return.

8.11 If you fail to return a product to us, we may make arrangements to have the product collected from you. The cost of this collection will be passed on to you.

8.12 Unused products may be returned promptly by customers to the address listed below:

8.13 Subject to the above, we will refund the purchase price of a returned product within thirty days of receiving written notification of your intention to return the product.

8.14 We will also refund the cost of standard or recorded postage incurred returning a product, if incorrectly sent by us, or where the product has been returned due to a defect. Please note that we will not refund any courier, overnight or express element of any delivery or postage charge, including Royal Mail Special Delivery.


9.1 We endeavor to respond to all customer complaints or queries within five working days.


10.1 Lighting Room guarantees all Goods (excluding light bulbs) for 1 year from the date of receipt against defective parts, materials and/or manufacture (Please see returns policy). A qualified and insured electrician must carry out installation of Goods otherwise this guarantee is void. If Goods have become compromised as a result of misuse this warranty is void. After 7 working days from the date of delivery, Goods returned will be repaired or replaced dependent upon the nature of the fault. Your statutory rights are not affected.

10.2 Where a Customer experiences a fault with a product it can be returned to Lighting Room subject to our returns policy.


11.1 Lighting Room shall not be liable for delay or failure to perform any obligation under these Terms & Conditions if the delay or failure is caused by any circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including, but not limited to, acts of god, war, threat or preparation of war, civil disorder, riot, industrial dispute, invasions, terrorist arrack, threat of terrorist attack, fire, explosion, storm, flood, earthquake, subsidence, epidemic or other natural disaster, or failure of public or private telecommunications networks or impossibility of the use of railways, shipping, aircraft, motor transport or other means of public or private transport.

11.2 If an Event Outside Our Control takes place that affects the performance of our obligations under a Contract:

11.2.1 We will contact you as soon as reasonably possible to notify you: and

11.2.2 Our obligations under a Contract will be suspended and the time for performance of our obligations will be extended for the duration of the Event Outside Our Control. Where the Event Outside Our Control affects our delivery of Products to you, we will arrange a new delivery date with you after the Event Outside Our Control is over.

11.3 You may cancel a Contract affected by an Event Outside Our Control which has continued for more than 30 days. To cancel please contact us. If you opt to cancel, you will have to return (at our cost) any relevant Products you have already received and we will refund the price you have paid, including any delivery charges.


12.1 Lighting Room grants you a license to access the content, information and services contained within our website for personal use only.

12.2 This license allows you to download and cache (using your browser) individual pages from our website.

12.3 This license does not allow you to download and modify individual pages or substantial parts of our website nor to make our website available via an intranet, where our website or a substantial part of it is hosted locally on the intranet in question.

12.4 Our website design, layout, content or text cannot be copied, edited or otherwise manipulated without our express prior written permission.

12.5 Our website cannot be placed within the frame-set of another site.

12.6 Third parties are not allowed to “deep link” to pages within our website, without our express prior written permission. All links (unless expressly permitted by us) should be to the main index page of our website. Furthermore, the content of such links, whether graphic or text should not be misleading, false, derogatory or in any other way offensive.


13.1 All content, databases, graphics, buttons, icons, logos, layouts and look & feel are the copyright of Lighting Room. Unauthorised copying or redistribution of any content is prohibited unless prior permission is given.

13.2 The data mining, extraction or utilisation of product information from our website is not permitted without our express prior written permission.


14.1 Lighting Room will be liable for any losses incurred by you due to breaches of these Terms & Conditions by us, where such losses were reasonably foreseeable at the time the contract between you and us was made.

14.2 All business, indirect or consequential losses not reasonably foreseeable at the time of the contract between you and us are excluded.

14.3 Lighting Room does not exclude or limit liability for death or personal injury caused by the negligence or breach of duty by us, our employees or officers.


15.1 The foregoing paragraphs, sub-paragraphs and clauses of these Terms & Conditions shall be read and construed independently of each other. Should any part of this agreement or its paragraphs, sub-paragraphs or clauses be found invalid it shall not affect the remaining paragraphs, sub-paragraphs and clauses.


16.1 Failure by Lighting Room to enforce any accrued rights under these Terms & Conditions is not to be taken as or deemed to be a waiver of those rights unless we acknowledge the waiver in writing.


17.1 These Terms & Conditions set out the entire agreement and understanding between you and Lighting Room. We reserve the right to change these Terms & Conditions at any time, without giving notice to you.


18.1 These Terms & Conditions shall be interpreted, construed and enforced in accordance with English law and shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English Courts.

Your statutory rights are unaffected.

19.1 Some of the Products we sell to you come with a manufacturer’s guarantee. For details of the applicable terms and conditions, please refer to the manufacturer’s guarantee provided with the Products.

19.2 If you are a consumer, a manufacturer’s guarantee is in addition to your legal rights in relation to Products that are faulty or not as described. Advice about your legal rights is available from your Citizens’ Advice Bureau or Trading Standards Office.


This clause 20 only applies if you are a business customer.

20.1 We only supply the Products for internal use by your business, and you agree not to use the Product for any re-sale purposes.

20.2 Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for:

20.2.1 death or personal injury caused by our negligence;

20.2.2 fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

20.2.3 breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (title and quiet possession); or

20.2.4 defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.

20.3 Subject to clause 20.2, we will under no circumstances whatever be liable to you, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with the Contract for:

20.3.1 any loss of profits, sales, business, or revenue;

20.3.2 loss or corruption of data, information or software;

20.3.3 loss of business opportunity;

20.3.4 loss of anticipated savings;

20.3.5 loss of goodwill; or

20.3.6 any indirect or consequential loss.

20.4 Subject to clause 20.2 and clause 20.3, our total liability to you in respect of all other losses arising under or in connection with the Contract, whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall in no circumstances exceed the price of the Products.

20.5 Except as expressly stated in these Terms, we do not give any representation, warranties or undertakings in relation to the Products. Any representation, condition or warranty which might be implied or incorporated into these Terms by statute, common law or otherwise is excluded to the fullest extent permitted by law. In particular, we will not be responsible for ensuring that the Products are suitable for your purposes.


This clause 21 only applies if you are a consumer.

21.1 If we fail to comply with these Terms, we are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or our negligence, but we are not responsible for any loss or damage that is not foreseeable. Loss or damage is foreseeable if it is an obvious consequence of our breach or it was contemplated by you and us at the time we entered into this contract.

21.2 We only supply the Products for domestic and private use. You agree not to use the product for any commercial, business or re-sale purposes, and we have no liability to you for any loss of profit, loss of business, business interruption, or loss of business opportunity.

21.3 We do not in any way exclude or limit our liability for:

21.3.1 death or personal injury caused by our negligence;

21.3.2 fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;

21.3.3 any breach of the terms implied by section 12 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (title and quiet possession);

21.3.4 any breach of the terms implied by section 13 to 15 of the Sale of Goods Act 1979 (description, satisfactory quality, fitness for purpose and samples); and

21.3.5 defective products under the Consumer Protection Act 1987.
